During their first keynote of the year, Apple released AirTags along with various updates on their products (iPad Pro with M1 chip, new Mac, a new color for their iPhone 12). Innovative and described as « disruptive », the AirTag is linked to your Apple Device and help you find lost items such as your keys, wallet or even your suitcase and backpack.
AirTags will be release on April 30 at a base price of $29,99. In bulk you will be able to get 4 of them for $99 ($24,75 each). The AirTags are small, round and the battery can be replaced by the user once a year. Based on the Find Me network by Apple, the AirTags use the millions of Apple devices to be found even without a GPS connexion.
The Find Me network who was recently opened to external products such as a bike (you can learn more here : https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2021/04/apples-find-my-network-now-offers-new-third-party-finding-experiences/). It allows consumers to have access to a vast and global finding network based on millions of devices, with still the privacy they need. It is end-to-end encrypted and anonymous, so no one else, not even Apple, can have access to the GPS informations of your devices/AirTags !What do you think of this new release from Apple.
